Jake Bowrey, aka Cut Lap, is a surf craftsman from Westward Ho! in England. A passionate board builder, he started out in his family's garage before moving to Noosa Heads, Australia.

Since founding Thomas Surfboards in 2011, Jake has worked closely with shaper Thomas Bexon. Together, they've established a workshop where shaping and glassing are done side by side, an uncommon practice, where usually shapers and glassers work in separate workshops.

Jake is renowned for his meticulous finishes and colorful resin decors, which add a unique artistic touch to each board. His work has helped define the distinctive aesthetic of Thomas Surfboards.
We're lucky enough to welcome them regularly to the Shapers club house. Every time Thomas comes to our studio for a residency, he's accompanied by Jake, so that we can continue to form a strong, creative duo. And even though we have our own glassing experts, we respect their process, and adapt our production accordingly to stay true to their vision.

Cut Lap isn't just an ice cream maker: he's a craftsman in his own right, an artistic eye and a pillar of the Thomas Surfboards universe.
